The Montefiore Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses’ Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing’s Social Policy Statement. The Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard and performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center. The Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served.
Has a 24-hour responsibility for the supervision, scheduling, hiring, firing and performance appraisal of nursing and ancillary associates within their Surgical specialties but not limited for the Operating Room. Coordinates other activities including but not limited to inventory management, budgeting, and performance improvement activities to promote efficient/effective operations and quality patient care. Demonstrates leadership and clinical expertise in area(s) of responsibility. Responsible for developing and maintaining competence of assigned associates.
Schedule: 11 AM-7:30 PM. Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities
- Supervision, scheduling, hiring, firing and performance appraisal of nursing and ancillary staff within surgical specialties (not limited to the Operating Room).
- Coordinate inventory management, budgeting, and performance improvement activities to promote efficient/effective operations and quality patient care.
- Demonstrate leadership and clinical expertise in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Develop and maintain competence of assigned associates.
Education, Training & Experience
- New York State Registered Professional License and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State.
- Master’s degree from an accredited program required or a projected graduation date within three years of position acceptance.
- M.S.N. preferred.
- Minimum of two-three years management experience or progressive leadership experience.
- Minimum of three years of OR experience.
- C.N.O.R Certification.
- Membership in A.O.R.N.
- BLS
