Job description:
The role:
A private family based in London is looking for a Private Chef to support their weekly food preparation. The role is Monday to Friday, preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner in advance for the following day. The chef will work from the family home kitchen, typically finishing by early afternoon. The chef will shop, prepare and package all meals in advance. Dinner will be prepared and boxed up to be eaten the same evening, while breakfast and lunch will be prepared for the following day, the chef will be in charge of sourcing the produces using a loaded credit card provided by the family.
Food and cuisine preferences:
The family enjoys fresh, healthy, and varied cuisine, including Mediterranean and Asian influences. They are open to most foods and enjoy variety, with a balance of simple meals and more refined dishes. Meals are often prepared in advance rather than served. One adult does not eat mushrooms, oysters, or octopus. There is a young child who is intolerance to eggs and requires a more simple, low spice meals, ideally adapted from the main dishes. One dessert per week maximum is preferred.
Contract and package:
This is a part-time, ongoing freelance position on a self-employed basis. The chef will work approximately 5/6 hours per day, 5 days per week, with an estimation of around 25 hours weekly. Hourly rate is Β£35 to Β£45+, depending on experience, invoiced weekly by the chef. Ingredients are covered separately by the client. Flexibility is offered, and the role can suit a chef with other commitments, including evening work elsewhere. No dinner service is currently required, but this may evolve over time.

The family values reliability, consistency, and a good personal fit as much as cooking skills. The household has a young child and both adults work full-time, so the setup is designed to be practical and efficient. The current kitchen is not very large but suitable for daily preparation, the family's main residence offers a larger kitchen but is curently being renovated and should be accessible soon. The family is looking for a chef that can prepare healthy, tasty food with some dishes that can be repeated once they're aligned by the family. They like a wide range of cuisines, such as Asian, Italian, healthy, Mediterranean, and a broad range of fresh and very tasty cuisine. They don't need a chef for dinner service, so the chef will be done just after lunch, once all the meals are prepared and the kitchen is cleaned up. We expect that to be around 2:00 in the afternoon.
