The role: An UHNW family is looking for a highly experienced Private Chef to join their household culinary team, working between their residences in central London and the EU. The family currently employs a full-time Private Chef and a Sous Chef, and the new Chef will work alongside the existing team to create a strong and supportive kitchen operation. The role is due to start ASAP.
Food and cuisine preferences: The family enjoys healthy, well-prepared and straightforward cuisine, with a casual fine-dining approach. They enjoy a wide range of cuisines, including Mexican, Italian, Mediterranean and a variety of well prepared world cuisine in general. They are health-conscious and prefer lighter food with healthy options rather than fatty dishes. One family member is vegetarian. Chefs will generally work to prepare lunch and dinner, with a break between services. The chef should also be comfortable supporting regular entertaining and events for additional guests of the family.
Contract and package: This is a full-time position, normally working 5 days per week. When travelling with the family, the chef will work up to 6 days per week. The family travels regularly to their European residences and the chef will be expected to accompany them when required. Additional time off is provided following extended periods of travel and when the family travels without the chef. Salary is up to £110,000 per annum gross, depending on experience, plus a discretionary bonus. Travel and accommodation outside London are covered by the family.
Additional information: The ideal chef will have around 5 years of previous Private Chef experience within UHNW households, with a preferred fine-dining or Michelin-trained background. The chef must be discreet, quick-thinking, flexible and comfortable managing last-minute changes, events and travel requirements. The successful candidate will integrate closely with the existing Head Chef, who has been with the family for several years, sharing responsibility for meal preparation and helping create additional time off for the established chef. A collaborative, low-ego approach and the ability to work calmly to very high standards are essential.
