ROLE OVERVIEW

The People & Culture Executive plays a central role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture across the Montcalm Collection’s 14 properties. This role supports the Cluster HR Manager and Head of People & Culture in delivering strategic HR initiatives while overseeing day-to-day HR operations.

This role ensures the effective execution of all HR activities including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, training, compliance, and wellbeing. The Officer acts as a key point of contact for employees and line managers alike, ensuring consistent, fair, and values-driven people practices are upheld across the organisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides overall guidance to the People & Culture function across 14 Montcalm Collection properties.
  • Prepares Induction programmes for management roles and introduction emails.
  • Oversees day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and policy administration.
  • Supports the Cluster HR Manager and Head of People & Culture in delivering business-wide HR projects.
  • Prepares offer letters, employment contracts, and onboarding materials using Harri.
  • Takes an active part in creating/updating company policies and procedures.
  • Supports the Learning and Development Manager by assisting with the delivery of Full Company Induction and oversees the administration and execution of employee engagement and wellness activities.
  • Supports benefits processes, ensuring accurate administration.
  • Leads and participates in employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinaries, and grievances.
  • Provides advice and support to line managers (HODs) on performance management, absence management, and conflict resolution.
  • Maintains compliance with employment legislation, HR policies, and GDPR obligations.
  • Ensure that all employees' right-to-work is compliant at all times.
  • Supports junior HR team members in their respective duties and personal and professional growth.
  • Tracks and maintains HR metrics and compliance reports to support strategic decision-making.
  • Champions a culture of diversity, inclusion, and psychological safety across the business.
  • Manages job frameworks and updates within Harri, ensuring system accuracy and streamlined recruitment practices.
  • Assists in internal communications and supports HR elements of company-wide events.
  • Collaborates with broader stakeholders within Montcalm Collection regarding any employee-related matters.
  • Supports in conducting and conducts exit interviews for departing employees of Montcalm Collection.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Builds effective working relationships across all departments and levels.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and approachable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Experience in the hospitality sector is desirable.
  • CIPD Level 3 (minimum), Level 5 or equivalent qualification preferred, or working towards.
  • Proficient in HRIS platforms such as Harri and Fourth.
  • Solid understanding of UK Employment Law and HR best practices.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Full-time position, with flexibility required to accommodate the demands of the role. Occasional evening or weekend work in support of company events or urgent HR matters.
