ROLE OVERVIEW

The Head of Marketing & PR is responsible for leading and executing the overall marketing, brand, communications, and public relations strategy across the Montcalm Collection portfolio. The role drives brand awareness, market positioning, guest acquisition, revenue generation, reputation management and stakeholder engagement across the Group's portfolio, including Montcalm Collection, Inhabit Hotels, Park Grand Hotels, and all Marriott franchised properties operating under Autograph Collection, Design Hotels, Tribute Portfolio, or any future Marriott affiliations. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Head of Marketing & PR works closely with Operations, Revenue Management, Sales, Finance, People & Culture and Hotel General Managers to deliver business objectives and support long-term growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement the Group Marketing & Communications Strategy.
  • Create annual marketing plans and budgets across all brands.
  • Drive brand awareness, market share and commercial performance.
  • Monitor industry trends, guest behaviour and competitor activity.
  • Deliver measurable marketing return on investment and revenue contribution.
  • Act as brand guardian for Montcalm Collection, Inhabit Hotels and Park Grand Hotels.
  • Ensure consistency of visual identity, messaging and brand standards.
  • Lead brand development, repositioning and new hotel launch strategies.
  • Oversee all creative assets, photography, videography and brand collateral.
  • Ensure brand standards are maintained across all guest touchpoints.
  • Develop and execute Group PR and communications strategies.
  • Manage relationships with media, journalists, influencers and industry stakeholders.
  • Secure positive media coverage across trade, consumer and luxury publications.
  • Lead crisis communications and reputation management activities.
  • Prepare executive communications, press releases and corporate announcements.
  • Manage agency relationships and PR partnerships.
  • Oversee website strategy, content management and user experience.
  • Lead SEO, PPC, paid social media and digital advertising activities.
  • Manage CRM and email marketing strategies.
  • Monitor digital performance metrics and campaign effectiveness.
  • Drive direct bookings and customer acquisition initiatives.
  • Oversee online reputation management and review platforms.
  • Develop content strategies across all channels and brands.
  • Oversee social media planning, engagement and execution.
  • Ensure content reflects each brand's unique positioning and audience.
  • Lead influencer and content creator partnerships.
  • Develop compelling storytelling that enhances brand visibility and guest engagement.
  • Develop strategic partnerships that enhance revenue and brand visibility.
  • Negotiate sponsorship, collaboration and barter agreements.
  • Identify opportunities with luxury, lifestyle, travel and corporate partners.
  • Support sales and revenue teams through targeted marketing initiatives.
  • Maximise opportunities to drive commercial performance and guest acquisition.
  • Ensure full compliance with Marriott brand standards, marketing requirements and franchise obligations.
  • Manage relationships with Marriott corporate marketing teams and brand representatives.
  • Coordinate campaigns aligned with Autograph Collection, Design Hotels, Tribute Portfolio and any future Marriott brand requirements.
  • Maximise opportunities through Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott distribution channels and global marketing initiatives while maintaining each property's unique identity.
  • Ensure all Marriott-affiliated properties meet required brand and marketing standards.
  • Partner closely with the Head of People & Culture to develop and strengthen Montcalm Collection's employer brand.
  • Support attraction, engagement and retention initiatives through internal and external communications campaigns.
  • Develop marketing strategies that position Montcalm Collection as an employer of choice within the hospitality industry.
  • Support recruitment campaigns, careers marketing, employee success stories and talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Collaborate on employee engagement, wellbeing, recognition and internal communication programmes.
  • Ensure alignment between guest experience and employee experience across the Group.
  • Support communication of diversity, equity, inclusion, learning and development and people-focused initiatives.
  • Work closely with operational leaders to promote the Group's sustainability strategy and ESG commitments.
  • Develop communication plans supporting environmental, social and community initiatives across all brands.
  • Ensure sustainability achievements and responsible business practices are effectively communicated to guests, employees, partners and stakeholders.
  • Support B Corp certification, ESG reporting, community engagement and responsible tourism initiatives where applicable.
  • Collaborate with the People & Culture team to communicate sustainability initiatives internally and encourage employee participation.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices relating to sustainable hospitality and responsible business.
  • Manage marketing and PR budgets across the Group.
  • Monitor campaign performance, marketing effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Produce regular reports and insights for the Executive Team.
  • Ensure effective allocation of resources across brands and properties.
  • Leads, coach and develop the Marketing & PR team.
  • Establish objectives, KPIs and development plans.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, innovation and accountability.
  • Ensure the team delivers exceptional support to all hotels and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Hotel General Managers, Operations, Sales, Revenue Management, Finance and People & Culture teams to align business priorities and commercial objectives.
  • Support opening projects, refurbishment programmes and strategic initiatives.
  • Represent the Group at industry events, conferences, awards and networking opportunities.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive marketing and communications experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a senior marketing leadership role within hospitality, luxury or lifestyle sectors.
  • Proven experience managing multi-property or multi-brand portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of hotel distribution, digital marketing and revenue generation.
  • Experience working with Marriott brands and franchise requirements is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability.
  • Experience managing agencies, media partners and external suppliers.
  • Proven budget management experience.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Full-time leadership role supporting all Montcalm Collection properties.
  • Frequent travel between hotels and corporate offices.
  • Regular attendance at media events, brand launches, networking events and industry functions.
  • Occasional evening and weekend commitments in line with business needs.
  • Active participation in Executive Team meetings, leadership forums and strategic planning sessions.
