Position Overview
Montcalm Collection are looking for a skilled and ambitious Deputy Director of Finance to join our team. Help to shape the Montcalm Collection's next chapter and showcase your skills. Become a trusted ambassador for our hotels and take advantage of the opportunity to move between properties, achieving the service and product delivery standards for the department with a high degree of customer care and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing all aspects of the financial performance of our group of hotels in London.
- Providing financial advice, support and expertise to various stakeholders & hotel managers.
- Ensuring a rigorous financial control and reporting environment.
- Preparing and reviewing the consolidated management accounts for all hotels.
- Holding weekly credit meetings and payroll meetings with hotel managers and management accountants.
- Ensuring hotels forecast is done in detail and setting a culture of establishing weekly payroll costs and expenses tracking with a view to project hotels profit with degree of accuracy.
- Taking actions as required to ensure objectives are met.
- Supporting financial director for the preparation of new SOPs and implementing them.
- Continually reviewing and developing best practice financial accounting and control procedures to maximise impact, efficiency and reduce risk.
- Supporting and ensuring proper month-end and year end closing.
- Ensuring all intercompany accounts balance.
- Regular Balance Sheet reviews for all hotels, in conjunction with management accountants.
- Ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and are fully supported with backups and all variance explained.
- Highlighting un-reconciled and unbalanced account differences to financial director monthly.
- Supporting and development of the management accountants, including quarterly and annual performance reviews.
- Building relationships with the Senior Leadership team and using your expertise to support with decision making.
- System administrator accounting system.
- Leading monthly finance meeting with management accountants and the team.
- Supporting financial director with the hotels budgeting process; ensuring the completion of accurate and reliable budgets.
- Maintaining and monitoring a rigorous system of internal control, in accordance with Finance SOPs.
- Responsible for the annual audit for all hotels.
- Regular review of Capex reconciliation for all hotels.
- Preparing and filing VAT returns.
Requirements and skills
- A relevant hospitality finance qualification or part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or qualified-by-experience.
- Previous experience as finance manager within the hotel/hospitality/leisure sectors, ideally within a multi-site environment.
- Experience of using Sage Intact and Opera.
- Experienced in the production of management information alongside the provision of supportive commentary.
