A major public sector organisation is seeking a highly experienced Technical Project Manager to oversee delivery across a large-scale technology programme. You will work directly with multiple engineering squads, coordinating delivery, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring programme-level risk, dependencies, and priorities are kept in check.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of technical workstreams across multiple squads within a large programme
- Own risk, issue, and dependency management at programme level, escalating appropriately
- Translate technical architecture and integration designs into clear delivery plans and actions
- Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies and hybrid delivery processes across distributed teams
- Maintain senior stakeholder communication, reporting, and governance cadence
- Manage programme interdependencies and cross-team coordination
- Drive delivery using tools including Jira and/or Azure DevOps
- Identify and resolve blockers impacting velocity or quality of delivery
Required Skills (Must-Have)
- 10+ years of technical project management experience
- Proven background in software engineering delivery, systems integration, or technology programmes
- Strong working knowledge of Agile/Scrum and hybrid delivery models
- Hands-on experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tooling
- Demonstrable expertise in risk, issue, and dependency management
- Experience managing multiple technical squads or large-scale programmes simultaneously
- Strong stakeholder communication and coordination skills at senior level
Nice to Have
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certifications
- Background in software engineering or systems architecture
- Experience in distributed or global delivery environments
- Public sector or regulated environment experience
