Looking for an experienced GDPR Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-wide data architecture across a complex, distributed environment. The role will focus on embedding privacy by design principles, ensuring GDPR compliance, and driving large-scale data integration and migration initiatives. This is a strategic yet hands-on role suited to someone comfortable operating across architecture, governance, and delivery within enterprise data environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Define enterprise data architecture aligned with GDPR and business strategy
  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models across Oracle, NoSQL, and unstructured data
  • Implement data governance frameworks including lineage, classification, and ownership
  • Architect privacy-first solutions including anonymisation, retention, and DSAR processes
  • Design and govern ETL/ELT, API, and event-driven data integration patterns
  • Lead data migration and centralisation initiatives across data warehouses and data lakes
  • Ensure data security through RBAC, encryption, masking, and tokenisation
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and engineering teams to align architecture with regulatory requirements

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience as a Data Architect within enterprise environments
  • Strong GDPR and data privacy expertise (privacy by design, DSAR, data retention)
  • Deep knowledge of data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical)
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. Oracle, MongoDB)
  • Proven experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, Talend, DataStage)
  • Strong background in data governance, lineage, and compliance

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with data governance tools such as Collibra
  • Exposure to unstructured data platforms (documents, logs, media)
  • Experience working across cloud and hybrid environments
  • Familiarity with MDM and enterprise data warehouse architectures
