We are supporting a large technology transformation programme in hiring a Delivery Manager to take ownership of complex, large-scale delivery across multiple workstreams and service lines. This role sits at the most senior level of programme delivery, working closely with client stakeholders, delivery managers, third-party suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive outcomes, manage risk and assure the quality of delivery commitments. The successful candidate will combine deep programme management expertise with strong commercial acumen and the ability to shape, lead and stabilise complex programmes from the front.
This role suits a highly experienced Delivery Manager with a proven track record of leading large, multi-faceted programmes across both application and infrastructure landscapes within major organisations.
Key Responsibilities- Own and manage client relationships across a broad portfolio of applications, acting as the senior delivery and engagement point of contact.
- Drive revenue growth within the assigned account scope by leading the full opportunity management cycle from prospecting through to close.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing accounts, selling concepts to clients and influencing additional engagement based on demonstrated capability and past performance.
- Lead client presentations, conduct competitor analysis, manage estimation efforts and oversee proposal development and commercial negotiations.
- Provide client delivery assurance, taking personal accountability for commitments and working collaboratively with delivery managers across the business unit to drive successful outcomes.
- Shape and respond to RFIs and RFPs, creating differentiated value propositions and leading due diligence and transition activities for new engagements.
- Provide strategic leadership and executive-level governance across complex, cross-service-line programmes.
- Manage third-party supplier relationships, ensuring performance, accountability and alignment to programme objectives.
- Maintain rigorous programme monitoring, control and forecasting disciplines, ensuring transparency and accuracy across all reporting.
- Identify, assess and manage programme risk using recognised risk management methods and techniques.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in delivery management, having achieved proficiency at Delivery Manager level.
- Proven track record of successfully leading large and complex programmes with a labour value of £10m or more and teams of over 100 people.
- Experience managing at least 5 major programmes spanning both application and infrastructure delivery within medium to large-scale organisations.
- Demonstrated financial and commercial acumen, including realistic estimation, cost awareness and accountability for large programme budgets.
- Strong working knowledge of both waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Proven experience shaping commercial deals, providing strategic leadership and troubleshooting complex programme challenges.
- Exceptional strategic management, project management and leadership skills demonstrated across a wide variety of contexts and at the highest organisational levels.
- Proven experience managing third-party suppliers within complex programme environments.
- Strong disciplines around programme monitoring, control and financial forecasting.
- Solid understanding and demonstrated application of risk assessment and management methods and techniques.
- Proven experience successfully running cross-service-line programmes.
- Experience within regulated industries or similarly complex enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with client-side account management and business development activity.
- Experience leading offshore or globally distributed delivery teams.
