Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a central computer platform team. This team operates as a true platform function, providing secure, scalable, and well-observed infrastructure consumed by multiple product teams. The role is hands-on and senior in nature, suited to engineers experienced in operating Kubernetes at scale and building reusable platform capabilities rather than working within a single application team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and operate AWS EKS clusters used across the organisation
- Manage Kubernetes addons and workloads using GitOps practices with ArgoCD
- Develop and maintain Terraform codebases for EKS clusters and supporting AWS resources
- Own GitLab CI pipelines responsible for deploying infrastructure as code
- Work with internal tenants to provision and support GitLab Runners on EC2
- Maintain and evolve Terraform modules that underpin runner provisioning
- Build and manage monitoring, dashboards, and alerting using Prometheus and Grafana
- Contribute to platform standards, reliability, and operational best practices
Required Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles
- Proven experience working in a central cloud or platform team environment
- Strong AWS experience with a focus on EKS
- Hands-on experience with ArgoCD and GitOps deployment models
- Strong Terraform experience managing production infrastructure
- Experience with GitLab CI and GitLab Runners
- Solid monitoring and observability experience using Prometheus and Grafana
- Strong troubleshooting and operational mindset
- Active SC clearance is required
