Contract: 12 months (Inside IR35)

Location: 100% Remote with occasional travel

Hours: 8 Hours per day

Clearance: Active SC required, used within the last 12 months

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to deliver into a public sector client. The role sits within a secure platform environment and requires strong hands-on engineering experience across AWS, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, automation, security and containerisation.

Essential Skills

  • Strong experience as a Platform / DevOps Engineer, ideally 5+ years.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, including EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, Redshift and VPC.
  • Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience, including designing, building and maintaining scalable, secure infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with Git, GitLab and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Good understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD automation, deployment, testing and monitoring.
  • Scripting and automation experience using tools such as Python, Bash, Ansible and Terraform.
  • Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, infrastructure security and compliance best practice.
  • Experience reviewing code, improving quality, supporting refactoring and maintaining enterprise-level platforms.

  • Account Factory experience
  • Suricata
  • Ansible, Salt or Puppet
  • Self-hosted GitLab CI and Artifactory administration
  • AWS data services including Glue, Athena, Lake Formation and QuickSight
  • Entra ID and Microsoft Active Directory
  • GitLab Runners
  • AWS Grafana and Prometheus

Soft Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation ability.
  • Able to work independently and lead technical discussions.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail.
