The historic estate has been fully open to the public since 2018 and is a major 5-star tourist attraction, welcoming over 135,000 visitors per annum. The senior management team are looking for an ambitious baker to work alongside the full-time kitchen team in the continued creation and delivery of our well-established café offering, along with a number of other catering aspects on the estate. These range from public events, afternoon teas, private dinners and retail production, to name a few.
The Café at Montalto is a stylish eatery which specialises in locally inspired dishes that people love – all served the Montalto way. There are areas on the estate where the gardening team grows produce for use in The Café, and we are always keen to showcase the produce of local, artisan suppliers, incorporating it into our dishes and nurturing strong relations with them. Our Head Chef uses a variety of suppliers including Cavanagh Free Range Eggs, K & G McAtamney meats and Draynes Farm in the weekly menu. Supporting these producers, as well as growing our own produce, not only helps to sustain the local economy, it also ensures that we can use the freshest, highest quality, naturally grown ingredients.

You will have a strong passion for food and enjoy working with fresh produce, in an exciting, fast-paced kitchen environment. Work won’t purely be limited to day-to-day café operations but also events, afternoon teas and other exciting opportunities.
