The Team
Our Rating team, led by Josh Myerson, comprises 45+ specialists and operates across three core workstreams:
- Occupier Rating
- Landlord & Developer Rating
- Rate Management
The Occupier Rating team advises some of the UK’s most recognisable occupiers across retail, hospitality, leisure, logistics, healthcare, and corporate portfolios. We focus on providing strategic rating advice, appeal management, and identifying opportunities to reduce rate liability and improve operational efficiency. Clients include major national brands, blue chip corporates, and public sector bodies.
The Role
We have roles available for graduate, surveyor and senior surveyors who are looking to build expertise within a leading Occupier/ Landlord Rating team. You will support senior colleagues on high profile instructions while developing responsibility for your own caseload under supervision. You will gain exposure to national occupier portfolios, portfolio wide rating reviews, and Proposal/Appeal and Check/Challenge/Appeal casework. Strong analytical ability, valuation skills, clear communication, and a commitment to learning are essential.
Responsibilities
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support senior colleagues with valuation work and case preparation.
- Undertake inspections and measurement of commercial properties.
- Assist in preparing Proposal/Appeal and Check/Challenge/Appeal (CCA) submissions.
- Research and analyse rental evidence, costing data, and comparable information.
- Maintain accurate client files and instruction documentation in accordance with firm standards.
- Attend client meetings and liaise with the Scottish Assessor/Valuation Office Agency/Local Authority Rates Departments.
- Contribute to sector research, database development, and thought leadership projects.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Advisory to deliver coordinated, high-quality advice.
- Support the firm’s commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment.
Qualifications
