Overview
The Firm Montagu Evans is a UK property consultancy that helps clients unlock value from complexity, because that’s where the most meaningful opportunities live. Our purpose is to bring clarity, creativity, and conviction to the complex. We are experts who collaborate to create value, not just preserve it and our team is built for impact, not oversight. We specialise in high-value, complex assets across the property lifecycle, where political, technical or commercial challenges demand a joined-up approach.
The Team
This role will initially sit in the Valuation, Asset & Investment Advisory (VAIA) team, part of our wider Advisory department, but will work closely with Strategic Advisory, Transactions and Development teams. Whereas we have line management structures, critical to the success of our business is cross-team working. As our mandates grow in complexity, we are strengthening our analytics and financial modelling capability to deliver deeper insight, clearer decision making and greater strategic impact for clients.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Finance & Analytics Lead to take on delivering financial modelling and data analytics projects, initially with a valuation focus and a mix of public and private sector clients, but with a view of the role expanding into asset management, dashboard creation, data mining for new opportunities and investment and development cash flows.
The role will:
- Lead complex financial modelling, forecasting and portfolio analytics
- Translate complex financial and data outputs into clear, client-ready insight
- Help stand up, shape and connect analytics, finance and data capability across the business
- Over time, expand the role across Advisory and the wider firm
This is a highly client facing role requiring strong commercial judgement, technical credibility and the ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.

- Help establish and shape an embedded analytics capability within VAIA
- Act as a senior analytical presence in high value, complex client engagements
- Improve how analytics, modelling and visualisation are used across client deliverables

CLIENT FACING FINANCE & ANALYTICS
- Lead and deliver financial forecasting, reconciliation and performance analysis for complex assets and portfolios
- Build, own and enhance cash flow models incorporating debt, equity and scenario testing
- Deliver portfolio level valuation, forecasting and reconciliation work, including affordable housing and investment assets
- Translate complex financial and data analysis into clear, commercially relevant insight for clients
- Present dashboards, models and findings to a range of audiences, including senior client stakeholders
DEVELOP CROSS BUSINESS COLLABORATION
- Work closely with Strategic Advisory and Transactions teams on major mandates
- Connect existing analysts and data specialists across teams to reduce duplication and increase impact
- Act as a trusted analytical partner to Partners, Associates and senior stakeholders across the firm
DATA, SYSTEMS & VISUALISATION
- Extract, cleanse and interpret financial data from property management and accounting systems
- Present analysis visually using charts, tables and tools such as Power BI
- Verify and interpret market data and trends to support strategic advice

- Improve how analytics and visualisation are used in client deliverables
- Identify opportunities for data led process improvement and efficiency
- Help develop repeatable, scalable analytical approaches while retaining flexibility for bespoke client needs
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL
