THE TEAM
The Planning Dept comprises around 110 people across London and Scotland. The specialist Central London Planning team advises owners, developers and occupiers of sites and properties across the Central London boroughs. Recent projects include: advising on the Selfridges masterplan, the redevelopment of the M&S headquarters on Oxford Street, the Ewer Street masterplan for Landsec, the redevelopment of the BT Centre, the masterplan for St. Mary’s hospital in Paddington, the new Moorfields Eye hospital and the regeneration of the Winstanley Estate in Wandsworth. The team works collaboratively to deliver results across different land uses and with its market leading Heritage and Townscape specialism can provide a fully integrated planning and heritage client service across Central London.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a talented, ambitious, and personable planner to join our planning and development team. Within this team, we provide commercial planning and development advice to many of the country's leading developers, financial institutions, and landowners. Responsibilities
- Prepare advice to clients;
- Work with team members on developing planning strategies, preparing programmes and reviewing information;
- Drafting or reviewing reports, co-ordinating the preparation and submission of planning applications/ appeals/ representations;
- Identifying new business opportunities, assisting in firm-wide business development and preparing fee proposals;
- Developing individual client base and part generating own workload;
- Providing planning advice to clients and attending meetings;
- Responsible for maintaining continuing professional development;
- Any additional duties as reasonably requested.
Qualifications
- RTPI and/or RICS (P&D) accredited qualification;
- Recently qualified or will be due to qualify soon (MRTPI);
- 1-3 years planning experience;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent report writing ability;
- Keen interest in planning and development;
- An ability to negotiate effectively;
- Excellent experience of communication and client interfacing skills;
- Excellent presentation skills;
- Strong attention to detail;
- High service delivery skills;
- Excellent communicator, both written and verbal;
- Self-motivated;
- Committed and organised;
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages.
