THE TEAM/DEPARTMENT

We are seeking to recruit an IT Team Administrator to join the Technology & Data team, supporting the delivery of critical administrative processes while building core business and IT support capability through a structured apprenticeship programme.

The Technology & Data team consists of five Montagu Evans staff (including this role), two onsite staff placed by our IT Managed Service partner and one onsite member seconded in from our Data insights/visualisation partner.

The team support all colleagues within Montagu Evans.

This role is offered as part of the Level 3 Administration Support Apprenticeship (delivered in partnership with Realise Training).

Over the course of the programme, the successful candidate will combine hands on experience with structured learning, developing key skills in organisation, communication, digital systems and business support while contributing meaningfully to the team from day one.

The team is led by the Director of Technology & Data, with the Service Delivery Manager providing day to day oversight and support for this role.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The primary focus of this role is to support the smooth and efficient running of IT operations, ensuring a high level of internal customer service and enabling the business to function in a seamless and low risk environment.

Alongside this, the role is designed to develop core administrative and professional capabilities through the apprenticeship, including business support, stakeholder engagement, and effective use of workplace systems.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of IT and operational processes, building a strong foundation for a career in administration or business support.

Key areas of responsibility include licence management, asset tracking, equipment lifecycle processes, policy and documentation management, and coordination of service activities with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage licence allocations for business software applications liaising with vendors and colleagues as required.
  • Oversee the Asset Register ensuring that the onsite team via the Service Delivery Manager retain accountability for ensuring it is current.
  • Lead the disposal process (wipe/destroy/sale/charity) for surplus IT equipment.
  • Support the Service Delivery Manager with our internal & external Information Security Audits evidencing user access reviews, asset register maintenance and policy and procedure reviews.
  • Coordinate service review meetings with key service providers.
  • Oversee maintenance of IT policies and procedure documentation ensuring it is reviewed in line with requirements and escalated to the Service Delivery Manager as appropriate.
  • Support diary management for colleagues in the team relating to meetings/training sessions, etc.
  • Develop strong organisational, communication and digital skills through both on the job experience and structured apprenticeship learning.

Training model

  • 80% on the job learning.
  • 20% off the job structured training (embedded into working hours) (aligned to apprenticeship standard practice).
  • Delivery: Flexible, workplace based learning with a dedicated training provider.
  • Outcome: Recognised, accredited qualification aligned to the Administration Assistant Level 3 standard.

Whilst this is an entry level role, we are looking for individuals that can demonstrate the ability to:

  • Good attention to detail.
  • A flexible attitude towards working hours, some activities may need to be carried out outside normal business hours.
