- About Monta
Monta connects hardware, software, businesses, and drivers into one seamless charging ecosystem. Our mission is to make charging simple, reliable, and scalable for everyone.
Monta is a company of builders. We move fast, break friction, and use AI to multiply output. No politics, no fluff - the best idea wins, always.
We're looking for a Director of Finance who's ready to roll up their sleeves and own group financial control end to end.
You will be reporting to our UK based CFO and be a key member of his leadership team.
- What You’ll Do
- Team & Process Leadership
- Group Financial Control & Close
- Own the group month-end close process, driving toward a faster and more predictable close
- Hold sign-off authority on accounting treatment across entities, including VAT and revenue recognition judgment calls
- Own group consolidation and inter-company eliminations across multiple entities and currencies
- Oversee payroll, AR and AP management
- Own bank reconciliation and cash visibility across the group's banking partners and currencies
- Set and enforce posting controls and chart-of-accounts policy across the group
- Manage and develop the wider group accounting team including third party book keepers, with multiple direct reports
- Drive the automation and streamlining of our processes whilst ensuring strong financial controls
- Partner closely with FP&A on forecast-to-actuals reconciliation and board reporting inputs
- Technical ownership of the company ERP system. It is a plus if you have evaluated ERPs or have led an ERP transition
- Act as the primary point of contact for our external auditors (Pw C), driving audit readiness and closing out requests on time
- Drive AI adoption across finance, we have made huge strides and are AI native, and we want you to continue that
- Own transfer pricing compliance and documentation across group entities
- Bring technical accounting judgment to strategic finance projects as Monta evolves, for example new entity structures or evolving revenue recognition needs
- Lead technical accounting input on product development such as invoice generation and VAT engine
- Own statutory audit and group compliance across all entities
- Compliance & Strategic Projects
What We're Looking For
If the mission excites you but your experience isn’t a perfect 1:1 match, apply anyway — we care about potential, not perfection.
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent), with significant post-qualification experience and a track record of managing a team
- Experience managing a diverse team across geographies
- Comfortable bringing technical accounting knowledge to cross-functional and strategic projects, not just running the close
- Demonstrable experience building and managing bespoke finance solutions with AI and a bonus if you have led an ERP migration
- Skilled at running a tight, predictable month-end process
- Transfer pricing and multi-entity or group consolidation experience
- Saa S and/or fintech experience is a strong plus
- Experience in a regulated financial services environment (e-money, payments, or similar) is a strong plus
- Bonus if you speak Danish as our HQ is in Copenhagen
- AI Competency
You’ll be expected to work with AI-powered tools. Some we use
- Git Hub Copilot / Claude Code
- Chat GPT / Gemini / Claude
- Notion AI (docs, knowledge, meeting notes)
- Analytics & ML: Langfuse, Py Torch, Mastra
- AI-enhanced testing & monitoring (e. g., generative QA, Grafana ML)
We don’t expect mastery of all — but we expect comfort learning, experimenting, and adopting
AI responsibly.
