Leading the key customer agenda across the Grocery & Convenience channels on the Island of Ireland, this individual will work closely with the Channel Manager and other members of the Ireland leadership team to devise and execute an end-to-end Head Office to Field execution plan. The Channel Executive works with the relevant internal Monster Energy functions to create powerful tools and plans to enable growth of the Monster Energy Company portfolio of brands across the Grocery & Convenience channels of the business. It is the incumbent's responsibility to build strong relationships with the Coca Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Key Account Sales and Activation teams, and Monster Energy internal support teams, so that these plans can be enacted to extract the maximum possible growth from the customer base, growing the Monster Energy Company market share and improving the performance of each of the portfolio brands within that.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the expert in the Grocery or Convenience marketplace, identifying long and short-term trends, with a clear knowledge of the outlets, their operations, strategies, opportunities and risks.
- Support the Channel Manager in defining the opportunities for growth in order to build robust and deliverable plans which accelerate brand and portfolio performance in the market.
- Take the strategic direction from the Channel Manager and define clear tactics and programmes which deliver against those strategic objectives.
- Understand the opportunities and dynamics of the Grocery & Convenience environments and build and present recommendations which increase the effectiveness of the Monster Energy brands in those stores.
- Build strong working relationships within the CCHBC business, deploying strong influencing skills to ensure that the energy objectives are prioritised, met and where possible exceeded despite broader commercial pressures, whilst always upholding and respecting the agreed ways of working.
- Consistently seek incremental above-plan growth opportunities to continually accelerate business performance across the customer set.
- Create collaborative working relationships with internal support teams to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the business plans and acceleration opportunities.
- Always operate as a team, sharing challenges, opportunities and learnings within the team and with the wider business.
- Be a brand ambassador in all that you do to positively represent the brands and the Monster Energy business at all times.
- Demonstrate flexibility to attend Monster Energy brand asset events to host trade guests or DP engagement sessions (26 per annum, including weekends).
Experience and Attitude
- Trading experience in a Key Account role in Grocery & Convenience environments.
- Strong understanding of the Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland markets and their customers.
- Experience working with, through or in a Distribution Partner system.
- Experience using objective analysis to create clear strategic channel development plans.
- Clear understanding and experience of scaled activation of brands in outlet.
- Ideally, experience of working out-based and on own initiative.
- Experience of trading within IOI FMCG markets, ideally across all environments.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills.
- Passion for execution, delivery and winning.
- A true team player who invests in shared goals.
- The role is out-based and will require regular travel and overnight stays.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends to host trade guests at events.
