POSITION OVERVIEW
The role of the Health & Safety Officer is to assist Monster and the H&S Manager with the implementation of its H&S management system across EMEA. The successful candidate will advise and assist stakeholders on all matters relating to health and safety, ensure that Monster complies with the necessary legislative obligations and to drive continuous improvement of health and safety throughout the business across EMEA. The Health & Safety Officer position will be a hands-on role and will involve a large amount of interaction with stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- To support the Health and Safety Manager in developing and maintaining all elements of the Monster Health and Safety Management System
- Assist the H&S Management Team and Leadership Groups with the implementation and continual improvement of the Safety Management System across all business units
- Liaise with external service providers and site management across EMEA to ensure Monster sites and activities in the region are complying with local legislation
- Act as the point of contact on all H&S matters for allocated areas of responsibility and divisions across EMEA
- To provide information, specialist advice and guidance in line with territorial safety legislation to all stakeholders
- Undertake travel across EMEA to visit various Monster sites, events and activities
- Carry out or organise risk assessments for all areas of the business and then ensure safe systems of work are implemented successfully and documented for staff to access.
- Conduct regular audits of Monster sites or activities to provide assurance that legal and company policy requirements are being adequately managed.
- Create, progress and support safety action plans to reduce risks identified during monitoring activities.
- Follow up on action plans created with areas of the business and report progress to the H&S Manager.
- Identify the H&S training requirements and roll out training programmes.
- Conduct H&S inductions with new employees and contractors.
- Review the health and safety induction process and other training across our EMEA locations and assist in developing and implementing processes, as required.
- Assist in the review, update and continual improvement of company H&S procedures, documentation and templates
- Ensuring H&S documentation is adequate and translated to suit the requirements of the various territories
- Undertake periodic inspections to ensure H&S standards are being maintained
- Support the business in reviewing contractor documentation to ensure compliance with legislation for working at Monster locations or Monster events.
- Carry out investigations into accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings.
- Conducting site visits, inspections, across areas of the business to ensure the necessary levels of understanding and compliance are in place
- Supporting the company during local authority engagement, investigations and enforcement
- Liaising with external service providers to ensure the highest levels of service and statutory compliance
- Maintain knowledge of all applicable legislation and industry standards and carry out CPD
- Assisting with the improvement and population of our online intranet site.
- Assist in the gathering and completion of regular H&S reports for the leadership team.
- Create a strong H&S culture and drive behavioural change programmes.
- Mentor and support a small team of H&S Co-ordinators within the team and H&S Champions across the wider Monster business units

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent level 3 qualification within Occupational H&S if the candidate has the right experience.
- A proven working history of working in a similar role.
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- A flexible and adaptable approach to safety
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Possess a collaborative, friendly and approachable demeanour when engaging with colleagues and stakeholders
- Energetic team player
- Pragmatic, solution-oriented thinker
- A full clean UK driving licence and access to a car (for business and commuting purposes when required)
- This is a UK based hybrid role, but EMEA focused
- This role will require travel, both in the UK and across EMEA
- The requirement to travel across EMEA and attend events may involve some evening and weekend work
- Desirable but not essential: Multilingual in an EMEA language
- Desirable but not essential: International experience
