The Role

As HR Manager, you will act as a trusted business partner to leaders and teams across our Head Office population, supporting departments including Buying, Merchandising, Design, Marketing, Digital and Corporate Functions.

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of the employee lifecycle, helping to drive engagement, performance and organisational effectiveness.

This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders and managers across the Head Office population.
  • Provide pragmatic and commercially focused HR advice and coaching.
  • Support leaders in driving high performance, engagement and accountability across their teams.
  • Translate business objectives into effective people plans.
  • Employee Relations
  • Lead and support complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance management and absence management matters.
  • Ensure consistency, fairness and legal compliance in all people-related decisions.
  • Mitigate organisational risk through proactive advice and recommendations.
  • Talent & Organisational Development
  • Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.
  • Partner with managers to identify capability gaps and development opportunities.
  • Contribute to organisational design, workforce planning and change programmes.
  • Recruitment
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition to attract and retain high-quality talent.
  • Support hiring managers in delivering an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Ensure effective onboarding and integration of new employees.
  • People Insights & Projects
  • Analyse people data and trends to inform business decisions.
  • Produce and present HR metrics, insights and recommendations.
  • Lead and support HR projects aligned to the wider people strategy.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR processes, policies and employee experience.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strong HR expertise with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and a passion for creating great employee experiences.

You'll be comfortable building trusted relationships, navigating complex people matters, and supporting leaders to deliver their business objectives.

To be successful in this role, you will have

  • Proven HR generalist experience in an HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor/Business Partner role.
  • Strong employee relations expertise and up-to-date employment law knowledge.
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders in a commercial environment.
  • Excellent coaching, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and utilise people data.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Having the following would be desirable

  • Experience within retail, fashion, lifestyle or customer-focused sectors.
  • CIPD qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and transformation programmes.
  • Familiarity with HR systems and reporting tools.
