What will you do as a Commercial Finance Manager?
- Partner and communicate effectively with the Property team & Retail Director/RBMs to ensure the Finance team has a strong understanding of Property Activities and UK Retail Operations.
- Deliver insightful performance of UK Retail.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and challenge the teams to ensure targets are delivered, improving overall Sales and Profitability across the channel.
- Attend weekly property board meetings as well as pre-board preparation meetings with the brand/retail and property teams to fully assess any new store opportunities.
- Offer an appropriate level of challenge and support to ensure business cases are robust and complete.
- Drive forecast and budgeting process for UK Retail & Property including:
- Agreeing assumptions in advance of detailed work, to include key cost areas like NMW and Energy assumptions.
- Assessing risks & opportunities to the numbers presented.
- Setting up modelling/scenario analysis to assess sensitivity to numbers presented.
- Period end: Store costs, property costs, and retail team overheads.
- Monthly board pack analysis.
- Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Cashflow forecast for occupancy costs.
What you will need to succeed as a Commercial Finance Manager?
- Qualified (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA) with commercial finance experience.
- Proactive, resilient, adaptable, and “can-do” team player with a drive to make a difference.
- Excellent communication – ability to articulate orally and in writing complex and detailed information in an easy-to-understand manner to all levels of the business.
- Attention to detail, highly analytical, and comfortable dealing with large datasets/advanced modelling.
- Ability to deliver with a flexible approach when required.
- Strong Excel and System skills.

- Experience in Retail/consumer-facing industry environment.
- Experience of reporting systems (Coda, Cognos).
