We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on Facilities Operative to help keep the Monsoon Accessorize Distribution Centre in Wellingborough safe, compliant and running smoothly.
Working in a busy warehouse and distribution environment, you’ll carry out general facilities maintenance, respond to repairs, and support the upkeep of site equipment, grounds and services.
You’ll work alongside the Facilities & Engineering Manager in a varied, practical role suited to someone who takes pride in a well-maintained site and can work well both alongside the manager and independently when needed.
What will you do as a Facilities Operative?
- Support the Facilities & Engineering Manager and provide cover during holiday and other absences
- Carry out general building, equipment and minor repair works across the distribution centre, including doors, walls, floors, fixtures, fittings and machinery
- Complete routine minor electrical and plumbing tasks within competence, escalating larger works as needed (e. g. replacing lighting, fuses, taps and washers)
- Monitor building services, report faults, and keep accurate maintenance records - such as lighting, heating, ventilation, water and drainage
- Carry out site and safety checks, including upkeep of external areas, car parks, walkways, yards and grounds
- Coordinate visiting contractors and ensure work is completed safely and to standard including checking permits & method statements
- Respond to facilities requests and urgent issues, prioritising work to minimise disruption
- Work in line with health & safety legislation, company policies and safe working practices
What will you need to succeed as a Facilities Operative?
- Practical knowledge of general maintenance, minor repairs, building services, plumbing or electrical tasks
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload.
- Good communication skills and confidence liaising with contractors and colleagues.
- Computer and telephone literacy, with confidence logging maintenance activity.
- Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Awareness of health & safety and safe working practices.
- Two or more years’ experience in a similar facilities or maintenance role, ideally in a warehouse, distribution or logistics environment.
- Experience with mechanical handling equipment would be beneficial

This on-site role is based at our Wellingborough Distribution Centre, typically Monday to Friday, 6:00–14:30.
The work is physically active and involves indoor and outdoor work across the warehouse, offices, yard and grounds.
Occasional flexibility may be required for cover or essential works outside normal hours.
