A major Tier 1 Main Contractor is seeking a Construction based Mechanical Estimator to join a North region focused team. The role focuses on high-profile, technically complex, M&E / MEH projects across multiple sectors in the north of the UK, with values circa £50M+. The role is hybrid/mostly remote based and pays up to £85,000 + benefits. Key Estimator Responsibilities:
- Provide early cost estimating for the pipeline in line with RIBA stages or OGC gateways.
- Ensure realistic pricing levels for pre-bid, tender periods, and alignment with pre-construction processes.
- Assist in profitability and turnover via the delivery of regional workload pipeline.
- Produce accurate cost plans and advice for high-value, complex projects.
- Tailor cost plans to suit bid or project requirements, including cost modelling, elemental GIFA, functional unit pricing, and sector benchmarking.
Requirements:
- M&E background required, ideally with mechanical construction estimating and design experience.
- Ability to forward plan and use historical costs to provide business information.
- Project experience with values in the 10's of £ millions.
