The Role
Reporting to a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of projects—taking responsibility for multiple accounts on large schemes or leading the financial control of smaller projects. This is a varied and hands-on role offering real ownership and visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing applications, valuations, and cost value reconciliation
- Cost control, forecasting, and monthly reporting (value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow)
- Supply chain management and subcontractor engagement
- Supporting risk and value management processes to optimise project delivery
- Contract administration across relevant forms, including budgetary control
- Preparing subcontract enquiries, negotiating terms, and setting up contracts
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date contractual documentation
- Liaising closely with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Providing contractual advice and commercial support to operational teams
- Promoting safe working practices and escalating risk where required
About You
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
- Ideally chartered (MRICS) or working towards APC
- Proven experience working with a main contractor
- Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills
Desirable
- Experience within the water/utilities sector
- Knowledge of NEC contracts
