An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planner to join the delivery team on one of the UK's largest and most significant infrastructure developments. This is a flagship civil engineering programme with a construction value in the hundreds of millions of pounds, offering the chance to play a key role in the successful delivery of a complex, high-profile scheme.
Working alongside experienced project and construction teams, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and optimising project programmes across major earthworks and highways packages, ensuring successful planning and project controls throughout the lifecycle.
The Role
- Develop, maintain and update detailed project programmes using Primavera P6.
- Produce baseline programmes, revisions and progress updates in line with project requirements.
- Monitor programme performance, identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with project managers, site teams and commercial teams to ensure programme alignment.
- Support NEC contract requirements through accurate programme management and reporting.
- Prepare planning reports, look-ahead programmes and progress dashboards for senior stakeholders.
- Identify critical path activities and opportunities to improve project delivery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure planning information is accurate and up to date.
- Contribute to planning best practice and continuous improvement across the project.
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior Planner on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in earthworks and highways.
- Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6.
- Good working knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Excellent programme analysis and reporting skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced project environment.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving planning challenges.
