MEP Planner – Reading
Join a prestigious Tier 1 Contractor as an MEP Planner in the Reading area, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of large-scale Commercial, Education, Healthcare & MOJ new build and refurbishment projects across Berkshire & Hampshire.
The Opportunity
The MEP Planner will have responsibility for developing, managing/coordinating and monitoring the programmes for MEP packages on the projects. You will join the company at a time when several projects are at the PCSA stage. During this period, you will be required to work from the office. Once the works commence later this year, your role will primarily be site-based with some remote working.
What will the role look like?
- Working as part of the site/office based Planning team the role is responsible for programming, planning, monitoring, reporting, feedback and mitigation measuring.
- Ensuring that all programmes are compliant with the Project requirements and develop and agree a sequence of events ensuring that the most economical / advantageous construction strategy is adopted.
- Analysing performance and advising the project team of likely impact and recommend improvements.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
- A good understanding of construction techniques and a HNC / Degree in Construction Management or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in contributing to pre-contact planning, work winning, and processes, producing a Bid Programme and associated time related information as part of a tender bid team.
- Experience in managing live projects as well as handling tenders and pre-construction phases.
- Elecosoft Powerproject experience.
- NEC Form of Contract experience.
- Ability to analyse, collate and utilise a range of data and information for reporting and forecasting, as well setting 4D modelling for projects.
