We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to join a forward-thinking construction consultancy delivering major civils and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for someone who can produce accurate cost estimates, support tendering activity, and work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams. The role is hybrid in the Greater Manchester area, and pays between £60-80,000 + benefits, experience dependant.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for utilities, earthworks, drainage, structures and public‑realm works.
- Analyse drawings, specifications and BOQs, producing accurate take‑offs and first‑principles cost build‑ups.
- Source supplier and subcontractor pricing and identify risks, opportunities, and value‑engineering options.
- Support tender submissions and work closely with planning, engineering, procurement and commercial teams.
- Maintain cost databases, benchmarking data and market intelligence to strengthen future bids.
Skills & Experience
- Background in estimating civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
- Proficient in take‑offs, pricing and digital estimating tools.
- Strong analytical, numerical and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Desirable: Degree/HNC/HND in a construction discipline, and knowledge of NEC contracts and BIM/4D/5D workflows.
