The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join a major, long-term infrastructure project in Plymouth. This role is critical to the successful delivery of a complex civil engineering portfolio involving maritime, flood risk, and defence infrastructure works.

You will lead the development, maintenance, and management of project schedules, ensuring that construction sequences are optimized, risks are mitigated, and contractual obligations are met.

Note: This position requires Security Clearance. To be eligible, you must be a UK National.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Development & Management: Lead the creation and management of detailed project schedules (Level 1–4), ensuring alignment with construction methodology and site constraints.
  • NEC Contract Compliance: Manage the production of Clause 31 and Clause 32 programmes. Ensure all schedule submissions meet the rigorous requirements of the NEC contract.
  • Progress & Reporting: Provide accurate progress updates, Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis, and KPI reporting for both internal leadership and the client.
  • Change & Delay Analysis: Identify and model the impact of change through Time Impact Analysis (TIA). Support the commercial team in the substantiation of Compensation Events (CEs).
  • Interface Management: Work closely with Design Managers and Site Agents to integrate design deliverables, procurement, and temporary works into the master schedule.
  • Risk Management: Lead collaborative planning sessions and “What-If” scenarios to identify schedule risks and develop robust mitigation strategies.

About You

We are seeking a seasoned professional who understands the practical delivery of civil engineering works. While expertise in specific software is preferred, candidates with a strong understanding of construction sequencing and planning logic will also be considered.

Essential Requirements

  • Senior-level experience (typically 5+ years) within civil engineering, ideally on heavy infrastructure or maritime projects
  • UK National with the ability to pass and maintain Security Clearance (SC) vetting
  • Strong understanding of construction stages, lead times, and site-based planning logic

Highly Desirable (But Not Essential)
