Senior Estimator to join a leading UK construction business delivering major projects across the public and private sectors.
This is an exciting role for a commercially minded estimator looking to work on high-profile developments ranging from education, healthcare, defence, aviation, custodial and commercial projects, with contract values reaching £250m and beyond.
Working closely with the
Head of Estimating , you will play a pivotal role in securing profitable new business opportunities, leading tender submissions, managing estimating teams and contributing to the continued growth of a highly successful regional construction division.
The Role
As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates while identifying opportunities to improve value, reduce risk and maximise profitability.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading and coordinating tendering activities from initial enquiry through to submission.
- Producing detailed cost estimates for major construction projects.
- Managing and mentoring estimating teams, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
- Negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Supporting value engineering initiatives to optimise project outcomes.
- Assessing contractual, commercial, operational and technical risks.
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
About You
To be considered, you will possess
- Proven experience as a
Senior Estimator, Estimator Manager or Lead Estimator.
- Strong knowledge of estimating processes within the construction industry.
- Experience pricing large-scale construction projects across public and private sectors.
- Advanced proficiency in
Excel and estimating software packages.
- Experience using
Bluebeam or similar take-off software.
- Knowledge of benchmarking, cost planning and value engineering.
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
