We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to support the delivery of a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) expansion project within the UK's growing energy infrastructure sector. This role will be responsible for commercial management across the full project lifecycle, including cost control, procurement, contract administration, change management, risk management and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with project delivery teams, you will help ensure successful delivery of a large-scale energy storage programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial management activities across the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting and cost reporting.
  • Administer NEC contracts, including variations, compensation events and claims.
  • Support procurement activities and commercial negotiations.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with project stakeholders, contractors and suppliers.
  • Lead final account negotiations and project commercial close-out.

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager on major infrastructure, energy, utilities or capital projects.
  • Strong NEC contract experience.
  • Excellent commercial, financial and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within renewable energy, power, utilities or energy storage projects is desirable.
