An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing Commercial team based in Chatham. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for several key accounts on a major project or oversee the commercial and financial management of smaller schemes. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare applications, valuations and cost value reconciliations.
- Manage project cost control and forecasting.
- Produce and contribute to monthly commercial reports, including value, cost, profit/loss and cash flow.
- Manage supply chain relationships and subcontractors.
- Support risk and value management processes to optimise project outcomes.
- Mentor and provide commercial guidance to project teams.
- Administer contracts, budgets and commercial software systems.
- Prepare subcontract enquiries, negotiate terms and manage subcontract agreements.
- Ensure contractual documentation and project notifications are maintained accurately.
- Escalate any safety-related commercial risks to site management.
- Liaise regularly with site teams, subcontractors and client representatives.
- Provide contractual advice and support throughout the project lifecycle.
About You
Essential:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
- Associate Member of RICS (ARICS) or currently working towards APC.
- Previous experience working for a main contractor.
Desirable:
- Experience within the water or utilities sector.
- Knowledge and practical experience of NEC contracts.
