We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer (HVAC) to join a major infrastructure project at Hinkley Point C. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within the Integrated Planning Team, supporting the delivery of one of the UK's most significant nuclear construction programmes. This role can be either a Contract or Permanent role, depending on your preference. It is inside ir35 contract wise. If you are not local to the area accommodation can be discussed.
The Role
As the HVAC Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the integrated planning and scheduling activities across the HVAC scope of work. Working within a matrix organisation, you will collaborate with multiple disciplines and stakeholders across Design, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Construction, and Commissioning functions.
You will help drive an integrated planning framework that aligns strategic objectives with detailed project execution plans, ensuring robust reporting, programme integration, and management of key interdependencies across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project schedules for the HVAC scope of works.
- Support planning activities across Design, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Construction, and Commissioning.
- Drive alignment between top-down strategic planning and bottom-up delivery schedules.
- Integrate reporting processes and programme interdependencies across multiple workstreams.
- Support planning and scheduling activities across Unit 1 and Unit 2 Nuclear Island (NI), Conventional Island (CI), Balance of Plant (BOP), and Offshore Marine Scope.
- Produce and maintain Level 1 to Level 5 schedules and planning deliverables.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and opportunities, and support mitigation planning.
- Work closely with project stakeholders to ensure programme objectives are achieved.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Planning Engineer within major infrastructure, energy, nuclear, construction, or engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of integrated project planning methodologies and programme controls.
- Experience managing complex schedules involving multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
- Ability to analyse programme performance and manage interdependencies across large-scale projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience within HVAC, mechanical systems, nuclear, or highly regulated environments is advantageous.
