Our client is the UK’s only national radio station dedicated to tradespeople, reaching over 1 in 4 of the UK’s 3 million builders, plumbers, electricians, and decorators every week. With unrivalled cut‑through on site and in the van, they deliver music, banter, and trusted trade content for the UK construction industry. They are now looking for a creative, fast‑thinking and highly motivated Social Media Producer to join their Digital Content team. Reporting into the Head of Digital Content, you will play a key role in growing the station’s digital presence by creating topical, entertaining and highly engaging social media content. This Social Media Producer role focuses primarily on their entertainment shows, with comedy, personality and shareability at its core. While construction knowledge isn’t required, you’ll need to bring energy, curiosity and a willingness to immerse yourself in our audience and the culture of the station. On occasion, you may also work across some of their trade‑specific shows, with full training provided.
Social Media Producer Responsibilities
- Participate in regular team brainstorms to develop creative, topical and audience‑first content ideas.
- Collaborate with the Content and Creative Solutions teams to identify opportunities where video can unlock editorial and branded revenue.
- When relevant, work with internal teams, including News, to produce social content tied to current events and breaking stories.
- Create memes, moment‑based content and source UGC from our community.
- Think outside the box by developing innovative content ideas with presenters outside of live shows (e.g., behind‑the‑scenes videos, challenges, trends, personality‑led ideas).
- When required, schedule and publish content via our social media management systems.
- When required, shoot vox pops and event content using mobile / lo‑fi equipment.
Social Media Producer Experience
- Strong communication skills, creativity, and excellent time management.
- Quick‑thinking, adaptable and solutions‑focused, with a positive attitude towards problem‑solving and working with on‑air talent.
- Ability to edit high‑quality video content efficiently, with intuitive understanding of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and emerging platforms.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro and Photoshop (or similar editing software).
- Experience with Camera One (or equivalent auto‑switching capture software) is desirable.
- Hands‑on experience in audio‑visual production and / or social video production for radio is desirable.
- Strong understanding of how to visualise radio content and use video to build social reach, engagement and listenership.
- Ability to shoot external content using mobile devices.
- Experience in social media publishing is desirable.
