We are looking for a strategic and entrepreneurial team member to own Monotype’s Premier type design partner (aka foundries) relationships. This is a unique opportunity to cultivate high-value foundry relationships and influence our global inventory strategy from the ground up. In this role, you’ll be responsible for retaining and nurturing long term relationships with premier and strategic foundry partners. You'll act as both a trusted advocate for our partners and an internal voice for global foundry needs, delivering actionable feedback to product, content, and experience teams to ensure we’re building solutions that fit the needs of the global market.
What you’ll be doing:
- Relationship Management
- Build and retain long-term relationships with premier & strategic foundries, becoming their primary point of contact and connecting them with their network of supporting functions at Monotype.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding, licensing alignment, and optimal merchandising.
- Gather feedback to continuously improve the partner experience, advocate for tooling or content needs, and identify blockers to scale.
- Measure and report out partner success, opportunities, and KPIs to leadership.
- Strategic Contribution
- Work cross-functionally with global Experience, Legal, Product, and Marketing teams to improve the foundry experience and drive mutual value.
- Travel globally (primarily in EMEA) to meet directly with partners to strengthen relationships and represent Monotype at relevant industry events and in professional communities.
- Become a SME in Monotype’s business goals, strategy, and other key themes to be able to have strategic conversations with partners. Connect our partners with other SMEs in specific areas like Royalties, Legal, and Product for further support.
What we’re looking for:
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with experience using and improving CRM systems to track partner relationships and opportunities.
- 5-10 Proven years of experience in partnerships or business development, preferably within design, media, or IP-driven industries.
- Strong empathy for and enjoyment working with people in creative industries. Your enthusiasm is contagious and our partners love talking with you.
- Strong negotiation skills and proven success in closing high-value or strategic deals.
- Comfortable operating independently, with strong initiative and strategic thinking.
- Willingness to learn a new industry and the experience to know when to be the SME and when to bring in a SME.
- Interest in creative fields such as art, type and design.
- Fluency in an additional language such as French or German is advantageous.
