Who do we need?
The Business Development Representative position is responsible for qualifying new business by chat, phone and/or email. Often the first point of contact with prospective customers, the Business Development Representative has full responsibility for delivering a positive customer experience that will set the stage for continued engagement and growing interest in Monotype’s fonts, technology, and expertise. The Business Development Representative will interact with prospective customers via telephone, email and online chat.
Leads result from direct customer requests for quote or licensing information; marketing qualification based on lead scoring process; or others identified through marketing programs and/or prospect’s behaviour. This individual will have responsibility for a set of personal goals that may include appointments, trial commitments, etc... Integrity, exceptional communication and customer engagement skills, hard work, a flexible mindset open to learning and adapting, and an internal drive to succeed are foundational in the success of this role.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage inbound sales requests received via web, email, and phone.
- Outbound prospecting to build pipeline for Inside Sales Team.
- Ensure efficient lead routing to appropriate sales teams.
- Review, contact, and qualify marketing-generated leads.
- Pass qualified leads to Inside Sales or Brands Team, based on established rules of engagement.
- Work with sales managers and sales enablement to stay well versed in Monotype’s products.
- Collaborate with sales managers and sales teams to refine sales strategies and approaches.
- Maintain and update Salesforce.com to accurately track all relative customer data, business insights, and record of interactions.
- Continuously develop knowledge and skills.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Fluent in both English and French
- Strong problem identification and objection resolution ability.
- Ability to engage customers and build strong relationships.
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with high energy and drive to succeed.
- Ability to embrace change and learn quickly.
- Knowledge of Salesforce and/or a sales engagement tool is a plus.
