About the team
The Direct Surfaces Team’s mission is to make it delightful for users to manage their money. We’re rebuilding and unbundling the core of Stripe so that no matter what the business, the location or use-case there is a single place that can fulfil all financial needs: Stripe Treasury. This is a 0-1 new business at Stripe so if that sounds exciting we’d love to hear from you!
What you’ll do
- Deliver a world class mobile experience for Treasury users
- Scope and lead technical projects, laying the groundwork for our products to iteratively evolve and scale
- Design, build, expand and maintain mobile specific view cross-platform components, backing APIs and their services
- Work with our partners to design and launch new features and capabilities
- Align our technical decisions with Stripe’s broad strategic initiatives, while also advocating for needs specific to emerging new businesses
- Work with engineers across the company to understand when existing infrastructure can be leveraged vs. when building a bespoke solution is prudent
- Develop and execute against both short-and long-term roadmaps
- Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation
Who you are
We’re looking for software engineers with experience distributing products via mobile who have an eye for detail and are happy delivering changes at any layer of the technical stack.
Minimum requirements
- Have a strong technical background, including 3+ years of industry experience
- Have experience building mobile applications including working beyond just the client
- Understand good practices when building and working with UIs and APIs
- Measure your success in terms of business impact, not lines of code
- Internalize the best ideas from across the organization, humbly setting a vision that others are excited to get behind
- Work well cross-functionally and earn trust from co-workers at all levels. You are often cited as the inspiration for engineers that join your team
- Care deeply about mentorship and growing engineers
- Prefer simple solutions and designs over complex ones, and have a good intuition for what will last and scale
- Thrive in a collaborative environment
- Enjoy working with a diverse group of people with different areas of expertise.

- Have experience using React Native
- Have experience in ensuring great user experience and ease of use of features for products you build.
- Have experience with financial product companies and interest in financial products and markets

Salary and Benefits
The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is £81,600 - £122,400. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process. Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process.
