About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses.

Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities.

Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead.

That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Money Management Team’s mission is to build Stripe's business account, called Stripe Treasury.

Our product offers everything from storage, FX, payouts, yield, lending, card issuing, and much more to Stripe's users.

Although we've launched our product in the US, UK and AU, we are just getting started, and working towards offering this product to users all over the world.

What you’ll do

We’re looking for a leader who has a strong background in building successful products, a passion for leading engineers to solve challenging problems while developing empathetic partnerships with other Stripe teams to understand their use‑cases, unlock new capabilities and innovate.

At the same time, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to be hands‑on building key systems, and will be directly responsible for the successful delivery of large‑scale technical efforts as well as acting as a technical mentor and leader for Stripe engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Enable the team to work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to own and solve problems from end‑to‑end.
  • Support the engineering team in building experiences for businesses that range from high growth startups to leading global companies providing them with the tools so they can run their business.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization such as product, design, infrastructure, marketing and operations.
  • Lead and manage processes to help the team do its best work and engage effectively with the rest of Stripe.
  • Recruit great engineers, in collaboration with Stripe’s recruiting team.
  • Develop engineers on the team, helping them advance in their careers.
  • Contribute to engineering‑wide initiatives as a member of Stripe’s engineering management team.

Who you are

We’re looking for a leader with experience building great products and teams. If that sounds like you then we encourage you to apply:

  • Minimum requirements
  • At least 3+ years of experience building and managing a team or teams to ship high‑quality products.
  • Have a strong technical background as a contributor, including 4+ years of industry experience building user‑facing products.
  • Have experience in designing backend services as well as full stack experiences.
  • Work effectively cross‑functionally and are able to think rigorously, communicate effectively, and make or coordinate hard decisions and trade‑offs.
  • Thrives with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility in an ambiguous environment.
  • Technical acumen to drive clarity with senior engineers about architecture and technical strategic decisions.
  • Encourage a healthy and inclusive work environment that’s both challenging and supportive.
  • Care deeply about mentorship and growing engineers.
  • Preferred qualifications
  • Have experience with financial product companies and interest in financial products and markets.

Office‑assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users.

This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location.

For example, Stripes in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico, Bengaluru, India, and Dublin, Ireland work 100% from the office.

Also, some teams have greater in‑office attendance requirements, which the hiring manager will discuss.

This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in‑person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is £132,000 - £198,000.

This range may change if you are hired in another location.

For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.

This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location.

Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process.

Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
