You will support and assist the Senior Pastry Chefs in the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen, ensuring food is stored, prepared, cooked, and presented to the highest standards across all food and beverage outlets.
The Role
As a Pastry Demi Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of your assigned pastry workstation, supporting the wider pastry team to consistently deliver high‑quality desserts and baked items. This is a great opportunity for a developing pastry chef to gain hands‑on experience, build confidence, and play an active role in menu development, training, and maintaining excellent kitchen standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Run your assigned pastry section on a daily basis, ensuring consistency and quality
- Prepare and present pastry and dessert items to company standards across all outlets
- Support the training and development of Commis Chefs, apprentices, and new starters
- Assist with menu development and the introduction of new dishes and concepts
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times
- Control stock, storage, and portioning to minimise waste and manage food costs
- Ensure all cleaning schedules are followed and work areas are kept to a high standard
- Support efficient and smooth service during busy periods
About You
As a Pastry Demi Chef de Partie, you will be a motivated and enthusiastic pastry chef with a strong foundation in kitchen operations and a desire to continue developing your skills. You’ll take pride in producing well‑presented food, enjoy working as part of a team, and be keen to learn, support others, and progress your career within a quality‑driven kitchen environment.
- Have previous experience as a Commis Chef or Demi Chef de Partie
- Be passionate about pastry, desserts, and current food trends
- Have experience contributing to menu development or new dish ideas
- Understand the importance of stock control, waste reduction, and food cost management
- Have some experience supporting or supervising junior team members
- Demonstrate good knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety practices
- Be reliable, organised, and able to work well under pressure
