We are recruiting for a motivated and enthusiastic Purchasing/Stock Controller to join and lead our busy Purchasing Department on a fixed-term maternity cover contract of 1 year and 2 months, starting in July 2026. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the manufacturing sector, be a confident self-starter with strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage inventories.
The Job Role:
- Negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers and contractors
- Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures
- Sourcing refractory raw materials from suppliers globally
- Preparing purchase plans for refractory raw materials, PPE, and other miscellaneous items
- Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records
- Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation
- Coordinating with the production and technical departments on stock requirements and making purchases accordingly
- Ensuring all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications
