About the role
Monocle Radio produces three daily current-affairs shows, as well as specialist programmes covering design, fashion, entrepreneurship, urbanism and more. We are a lean, versatile and hard-working team that is committed to producing compelling, high-quality radio programmes with our distinctive global view.
The senior producer will draw on the strength of their news judgement and expertise in the end-to-end production of live broadcasts and pre-recorded shows. They will also establish themselves as a valuable partner for our commercial relationships and will represent Monocle at global trade shows, summits and events.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A strong news sensibility with a global outlook
- An ability to assess and respond to unfolding global events effectively and with speed.
- A trusted contact list of contributors and talent
- Ambition and drive to act decisively in response to breaking news
- Success in working both autonomously and collaboratively, managing ambiguity and making sound decisions under pressure
- A willingness (and ability) to travel and represent Monocle in editorial or commercial contexts
- At least five years' experience of fast-paced news production
- Additional languages would be beneficial in this role.
