An exciting role, with international travel, bringing Monocle to the world.

About Monocle: Monocle is an independent media brand that has built a global reputation for its coverage of international affairs, design, travel, fashion and more. Launched in London in 2007, the business has grown to include our magazine, daily newsletters, a round‐clock radio station and international events, as well as thriving shops, e‐commerce and cafés. With HQs, bureaux and retail outposts in Paris, Zürich, Merano, Hong Kong, Tokyo and more, we are a truly global team and proud to be a vital source of inspiration, analysis and ideas for our discerning global audience.

About the role: We're looking for someone to lead on how Monocle shows up in the world – on newsstands, in shops and through our global distribution network. This is a commercial, execution‐focused position responsible for ensuring that the magazine is available, visible and performing in the right places. You will manage our global distributor relationships, oversee logistics and supply, and work closely with partners to improve sell‐through, visibility and overall performance. Alongside this, you will develop our retail presence – driving relationships with key retailers in priority markets (bookshops, travel hubs and other high‐impact locations), alongside a focus on global travel retail and new opportunities that put Monocle in front of the right audience.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Leading Monocle's global distribution network, including key partner relationships
  • Managing print runs, allocations and supply to ensure availability in priority markets
  • Monitoring performance across channels, identifying opportunities to improve sell‐through and reduce waste
  • Leading retail development across both existing flagship partners and new accounts, including non‐traditional outlets
  • Working closely with our editorial, marketing and commercial teams to align distribution with campaigns and key moments
  • Ensuring operational rigour across logistics, timelines and partner communication

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in international distribution, retail or circulation within a premium publishing (or comparable) business
  • Strong commercial instincts – you understand margins, performance and where to focus effort
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple markets, partners and timelines
  • Comfortable taking responsibility for relationships and holding partners to account
  • A proactive operator who spots opportunities and follows through on them
  • A keen interest in Monocle's world – design, culture, business and global affairs

We're a small, international team. You will need to be hands‐on, decisive and comfortable taking the lead. This role suits someone who enjoys making things happen. We are open to candidates in London, Paris or Zurich for this position.
