About Monocle

Monocle is an independent media brand that has built a global reputation for its coverage of international affairs, design, travel, fashion and more. Launched in London in 2007, the business has grown to include our magazine, daily newsletters, a round‑clock radio station and international events, as well as thriving shops, e-commerce and cafés. With HQs, bureaux and retail outposts in Paris, Zürich, Tokyo, Merano and Hong Kong, we are a truly global team and proud to be a vital source of inspiration, analysis and ideas for our discerning global audience.

About the role

This is a unique standalone role with ownership and influence across the business. As Commercial Analytics & Insights Manager you will play a central role in helping Monocle to deliver its growth ambitions through better insight, measurement and decision‑making. Working across the full funnel – subscriptions, audience development, editorial, marketing and product – you will provide the analysis and recommendations needed to improve acquisition, retention, engagement and revenue performance. This is a hands‑on role for someone who is equally comfortable writing SQL queries and building dashboards as they are presenting commercial recommendations to senior stakeholders. You will work across the full analytics process: extracting and interrogating data, developing reporting frameworks, evaluating performance and translating findings into clear actions for the business. Central to your success will be your ability to work at pace across a broad spectrum of activities and turn data into decisions. This is not a maintenance role. We’re continuing to develop our analytics capability and data maturity, and this position offers the opportunity to shape how insight is generated, shared and applied across the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Experience in a subscriptions, membership or recurring revenue business, with a curiosity for how audience behaviour drives commercial growth.
  • Strong technical capability, including SQL, GA4, Looker and Excel, with familiarity with platforms such as Klaviyo and Piano.
  • The ability to move comfortably between hands‑on analysis and strategic discussion, translating complex data into clear commercial recommendations.
  • You enjoy working with people as much as you enjoy working with data, building strong relationships across editorial, marketing, product and commercial teams.
  • A pragmatic and action‑oriented approach, balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.

Benefits

This role is based in our Marylebone office and we offer the following benefits:

  • Discounts at The Monocle Café and Shop
  • Breakfast provided five days a week
  • Health and life‑insurance benefits
  • 23 days annual leave, 7‑day Christmas shutdown and 8 bank holidays

Please note that all applicants must have the right to work in the U.K.
