Impact Handling are actively recruiting for a Workshop Engineer. You will ideally have experience working with materials handling equipment or similar. You will be responsible for accurately diagnosing faults with machinery, servicing and emergency repairs. A typical day will consist of working on both customer and Impact Handling owned machines to ensure they are in full working order.
Skills and Experience:
- A technical background from within Materials Handling or similar
- Previous experience and qualifications from a similar role
- Experience working on mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Good attitude with the ability to stay motivated and productive
- A customer focused perspective and approach
Core Activities:
- Inspect trucks coming into the depot and in conjunction with the Service Manager carry out all agreed repairs.
- Ensure that all completed trucks are correctly inspected prior to leaving the depot and that there is a valid LOLER Inspection.
- Identify any damage on trucks coming off hire advising the Service Manager promptly.
- Inspect trucks coming off hire that are not due to go back into service advising the Service Supervisor of any faults on the machine and an approximate time it would take to rectify.
- Carry out routine maintenance as directed ensuring that all necessary service parts are available prior to attending customers' site, all quoted work to be highlighted by liaison personally with the customer.
- Submit detailed and correctly completed Parts Requisition or when making requests by phone provide sufficient information as may be required to enable parts to be obtained accurately and in a timely manner.
- Work mostly without supervision by using your own initiative, in a safe manner as laid down by the Health and Safety at Work Act, advising your manager if you need assistance.
- Ensure that you take every opportunity to maximise on repairs to customer trucks, always acting with integrity.
