Specialist Resource Base Teaching Assistant – Level 3
Monmouthshire County Council is looking for a highly skilled and committed teaching assistant to join a developing satellite primary class as part of our Specialist Resource Base (SRB) model.
About the SRB
Our SRBs serve as centres of excellence to meet the needs of children with complex additional learning needs, including autism, speech, language and communication difficulties, severe learning difficulties, and physical and medical needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support a small group of children to achieve progress in identified additional learning needs.
- Collaborate with teachers to deliver appropriate interventions and support.
- Act as a reflective practitioner and maintain professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience as a teaching assistant in a primary setting, ideally with children with additional learning needs.
- Commitment to professional development.
- Desirable knowledge of Welsh.
- Placement Details
- Salary: Pro‑rata if not working full‑time hours (52 weeks per year), i. e. 37 hours per week or 32.5 hours per week for school teachers.
- Place: Castle Park Primary School, Church Road, Caldicot, NP26 4HN.
- Term‑time only – 39 weeks per year.
- Temporary end date (if applicable): 31 August 2027.
