We are looking for an experienced and proactive Treasury professional to join Monmouthshire Building Society as Treasury Manager (Front Office). This is a key role within our Treasury function, responsible for the effective day-to-day management of liquidity, funding, hedging and collateral, while supporting the delivery of the Society's wider strategic objectives.

Working closely with the Head of Treasury & ALM and senior stakeholders across the Society, you will play an important role in managing the Society's liquidity, heading interest rate risk, managing Treasury controls and developing the Treasury Analyst.

What will you be doing?

As Treasury Manager (Front Office), you will manage the operation of the Society's Treasury Front Office, overseeing daily liquidity and wholesale funding requirements, implementing hedging strategies, and maintaining strong relationships with market counterparties. You will provide insight on market and economic conditions, support pricing activity, and contribute to key governance forums such as ALCO. You will also deputise for the Head of Treasury & ALM when required and play a central role in developing Treasury systems, processes and capability.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Managing day-to-day Treasury Front Office activity, including liquidity, wholesale funding, hedging and collateral management.
  • Implementing the Treasury strategy in support of the Society's Strategic Plan.
  • Monitoring market and economic conditions and preparing Treasury reporting for senior stakeholders and ALCO.
  • Ensuring compliance with dealing mandates, counterparty limits and Treasury policies.
  • Maintaining and enhancing Treasury systems and controls, including the Treasury Management System and market data platforms.
  • Supporting pricing activity for new mortgage and savings products.
  • Deputising for the Head of Treasury & ALM and supporting wider Treasury governance, policies and regulatory submissions.

You will be a calm, organised and confident professional who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. Strong stakeholder management will be key. You will need to communicate clearly and credibly with colleagues across Finance, Risk, the wider business and external counterparties. You will take ownership of your work, manage competing priorities effectively, and apply sound judgement when making decisions or escalating issues. A collaborative mindset, attention to detail and a continuous improvement approach will be essential, along with the confidence to challenge constructively and contribute positively to discussions at senior level.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in a Treasury Front Office or financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of Treasury activities, financial markets and prudential risk.
