Are you an organised, proactive leader with a passion for education? We are seeking a Lead Cover Supervisor to join our team and ensure high-quality lesson cover across the academy. In this pivotal role, you will be leading to ensure lessons run smoothly during teacher absences. You will coordinate and deploy cover efficiently, maintaining continuity of learning for all students. Support students in completing curriculum tasks, promoting positive behaviour and high aspirations. Collaborate with senior leaders to deliver a consistent and effective cover provision. Coach and guide staff, including supply teachers, to uphold academy standards. You’ll need excellent organisational skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the confidence to make quick decisions under pressure. This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same, perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a real impact on student success.
About you
- Have a basic knowledge and understanding of the curriculum.
- Hold an understanding of learning processes, barriers to learning and behaviour management strategies to facilitate the delivery of learning activities effectively.
- Have good literacy and numeracy competency with a minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English at grade C / 4 or above), or other equivalent qualifications.
- Have excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Have previous staff management or supervisory experience.
- Be able to deal with sensitive and confidential matters in a discrete and considerate manner.
