Position: HR Advisor (Maternity Cover) – Fixed term: Starting August 2026 for 12 months, Full Time, 40 hours per week, with flexibility between Monday and Saturday. We also welcome part time or job share applications. Salary £29,000 – £32,000 plus benefits, including fee remission. Closing Date 31/05/2026

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive HR Advisor to join our dedicated team and support all three schools within the Monkton Family. Reporting to the Director of People, you will take the lead in coaching line managers on people issues, striving for best practices, and mentoring junior HR team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advisory & Coaching: Advise departmental managers on all people‑related matters in line with employment law.
  • Recruitment: Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from creating job descriptions to onboarding, while working to reduce business costs.
  • Employee Relations: Proactively manage absence levels and long‑term sickness cases.
  • Strategy & Projects: Design and implement reward and benefit policies, as well as staff wellbeing programmes.
  • Compliance: Maintain and audit the Single Central Register and ensure all recruitment checks are carried out effectively.
  • Training: Design and deliver training for managers across the school.

About You

We are looking for a self‑starter with a desire to build relationships at every level of the organisation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent Certificate in Personnel Practice.
  • Proven ability in employment legislation and/or reward strategies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills.
  • An analytical approach to problem‑solving and the ability to interpret KPI data.
  • IT literate with a high level of commitment and flexibility.
