We are looking for a warm, confident, organised and proactive Admissions Assistant to join our friendly and ambitious team at Monkton Combe School. The role is part‑time, 20 hours per week, Monday‑to‑Friday during Monkton term‑time only, and permanently based at our Prep School. Starting salary of £30,000 (full‑time equivalent); part‑time compensation of £11,250. Start date 25th August 2026.

In this role you will be the first friendly voice for families exploring Monkton, guiding them from the initial enquiry through to acceptance and joining.

Responsibilities
  • Build rapport with parents and pupils
  • Understand what families are looking for
  • Keep families warmly engaged
  • Ensure no family ever feels forgotten
Driving the Admissions Pipeline
  • Follow up new enquiries quickly and warmly
  • Keep families engaged with calls, emails and invitations
  • Update records so the team always knows where each family is in their journey
  • Close the loop when families decide not to proceed and understand why
Creating Brilliant Visit Experiences
  • Book and tailor‑make school visits and taster sessions
  • Welcome families on arrival and ensure they feel looked after
  • Arrange meetings with staff and pupils
  • Give tours of the school
  • Follow up quickly afterwards to provide next steps and gather feedback
Guide Families Through Applications
  • Acknowledge registrations and explain the admissions journey
  • Request reports and/or references
  • Arrange entrance assessments
  • Liaise with Learning Support, Safeguarding and senior staff where needed
Manage Offers and Acceptances
  • Ensure data held in the applications database is accurately maintained and updated, including application status and any supporting notes
  • Send and chase offers
  • Send joining information and ensure all required documentation is in place
  • Liaise with academic staff regarding pre‑arrival preparations
Support Key Recruitment Events
  • Open Events, such as open mornings and Stay & Play Experience Days
  • Bespoke family visits

  • Naturally warm, friendly and confident on the phone

  • Calm, caring and professional with families
  • Background in sales, customer service, hospitality, recruitment, account management or client relations is an asset, but a passion for people and communication is key
