About The Role
As a Senior Director Employment Legal you’ll lead the employment legal function across our EMEA and APAC regions, providing strategic guidance to support a growing, dynamic, multinational workforce. We are looking for someone who is passionate about seeking new opportunities to create impactful work.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the employment legal team, ensuring consistent, high-quality advice across regions and jurisdictions.
- Align the global employment law strategy with EMEA and APAC requirements, business objectives, and company values.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on complex, high‑impact employment matters.
- Provide strategic legal guidance across EMEA and APAC on hiring, workforce management, and reorganisations.
- Partner with colleagues in NAMER and LATAM to ensure global consistency of policies and stakeholder management.
- Manage external legal counsel and develop a strategic framework for their engagement.
- Design and implement employment policies, processes, and frameworks with appropriate local customisation.
- Monitor employment law developments to ensure timely updates to internal policies and practices.
- Oversee workplace investigations, employee complaints, disputes, and employment‑related litigation.
- Support complex cross‑border matters, including post‑merger integrations and workforce transitions.
- Provide guidance on employee mobility, contractor classification, and immigration‑related issues.
- Deliver training programs for managers and HR partners on employment law topics and emerging risks.
About You – The Essentials
- Qualified lawyer in England & Wales (8+ PQE preferred).
- Demonstrable experience working across multiple jurisdictions in APAC and EMEA.
- A self‑starter capable of shaping the direction of regional and global legal functions.
- A strategic thinker able to give pragmatic and commercial advice in a fast‑moving environment.
- Working knowledge of employment laws across multiple jurisdictions in a global, matrixed organisation.
- Significant prior in‑house experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Employment litigation experience.
Not a Must, But a Plus
- Qualifications in other jurisdictions.
- Experience managing employment matters in other regions (NAMER/LATAM).
- Prior experience shaping regional or global employment legal functions.
- Media/advertising industry experience.
