As a Senior Account Director, you will own and lead strategic relationships for a portfolio of key brands and campaigns within a digital advertising agency. Translate business goals into integrated, data-informed campaigns; steward cross-functional teams; and ensure profitable, high-quality delivery. Serve as the executive client liaison, drive growth through ongoing value, and mentor more junior members of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the senior strategic and operational lead for a portfolio of accounts; manage expectations, set milestones, and conduct regular business reviews with executive clients.
  • Drive revenue growth through renewals, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities; own the development of proposals, statements of work, and commercial models.
  • Lead cross-functional teams (Creative, Strategy, Media, Data, Tech) to deliver integrated campaigns that meet client goals and timelines.
  • Translate client goals into actionable roadmaps; provide strategic recommendations and measurable performance insights.
  • Own project scoping, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability; monitor monthly/quarterly financial performance against targets; manage multi-account P&L where applicable.
  • Ensure high-quality client communication, risk management, and issue resolution; manage escalations with confidence.
  • Support new business efforts with compelling briefs, proposals, and contributions to pitches at senior levels.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership growth.
  • Monitor campaign performance analytics; derive insights and guide optimization and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, approvals, and agency policies; uphold quality standards across work.
  • Hire, develop, and mentor account teams; foster a collaborative culture and support career growth.

About You

The essentials:

  • 8+ years of account management experience in digital advertising, marketing, or related agencies; proven track record managing high-value, high-volume interdisciplinary work.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, multi-channel campaigns (e.g., digital, social, display, video, search) and deliver on client objectives.
  • Strong leadership and relationship-building skills; proven ability to influence, negotiate, and present to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills, budget literacy, and comfort with Excel/Google Sheets for forecasts, P&L, and reporting.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven mindset; able to turn insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Clear, confident communicator with excellence in written and verbal presentation; adept at facilitating workshops and senior client meetings.

Not a must, but a plus

  • Experience with complex technical projects (websites and native applications)
  • Knowledge of performance marketing, media planning, and analytics platforms.
  • Background in proposal writing, RFP responses, and new business development.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday, Jira) and CRM systems.
